The idea: Glueing rather than nailing
“No ailing hoof is comfortable with an iron.” (Einsiedel, 1880)

Helmuth Dallmer let himself be guided by this principle when in the early 70’s he developed the first DALLMER Hoofshoe. DALLMER Hoofshoes are glued or buckled onto the hoof so that nails aren’t necessary anymore. This kind of attachment is much more comfortable for the horse. The hoof doesn’t get penetrated by nails anymore and thus doesn’t need to tolerate any foreign bodies inside. Thus DALLMER Hoofshoes aren’t just kind to sound hooves but they also increase the chances of recovery for horses that suffer from a hoof disease.

That’s why from the year one the principle of DALLMER Hoof Protection is: Glueing rather than nailing! All further developments orient themselves towards the first model. Furthermore all DALLMER Hoofshoes are made out of plastic. This material weighs less than the metal of a classic horseshoe and thanks to its flexibility it is suited for numerous different applications.
